The Challenge
Thoughful suburban multi-unit housing that municipalities will welcome often requires a mix of building types and styles. Avalon Easton is just one in Veitas Engineer's long history of successful mixed-income projects with Avalon Bay Communities. The development includes 26 buildings in a mix of Stacked Flats, Townhomes, Garages, and Amenity/Maintenence buildings.
The Solution
Working in sync with a strong group from The Architectural Team, Veitas Engineers provided flexible and economical light-frame wood designs for each type of building, which were then modified to account for variation is design without requiring a full redesign of each of the 26 buildings.
The Results
Variation and visual appeal of a multi-building, multi-unit development in a suburban setting does not need to mean that the building are identical or dull. With our Flexible Framework and deep knowledge of the building type, we can guide the project to minimize variation in the bones of the buildings while allowing for visual interest and economical construction.
